Introduction:

The Projects Department is implementing the Women in Media Project, where the project aims to shed light on women's issues and how the media deals with them. The project works on two main pathways:

First: targeting youth champions in the media field,

Second:  working with decision makers in the media field. Aiming To raise awareness about gender equality and women rights, and promoting fair and equal representation of women in the media industry and on the screen

Achievements

Gender Equality and women’s rights training was presented for 70 media workers and scholars aimed at raising awareness about gender issues, gender equality and stereotyped images of women in the media, as these are the most crucial issues to be raised in the media field in order to achieve equality.

This training is the first phase in the filmmaking grant presented by the project:

"Filmmaking grant" For media professionals and scholars

To train them on producing professional content on women's issues and domestic violence.

Phase one: training on gender equality and women rights, phase two: training on filmmaking, phase three: producing media productions promoting women rights.

Ongoing activities:

Currently, implementing baseline studies to study the current situation in Egyptian society on addressing women’s issues in the media and their impact on the status of women in society. The study targets 45 media workers and scholars and representatives in private and public media institutions. The study also includes representation of journalists, content makers, and decision-makers in the media field.

Volunteers’ training of Masrtopia 12 workshop in Assiut

The "Capacity Building for Peace" (CBP) project team went to Assiut to start the activities of the first phase of the cooperation protocol signed with the civil society organizations participating in the project.

This phase included the presentation of the training program for the volunteers of the Misrtopia 12-Assiut workshop, in which 15 young men and women participated.

The selection of volunteers came through personal interviews with young people who submitted the online volunteer forms. the IMC and local partner organizations were presented in the interview.

The training program lasted 3 days and included providing sessions on child psychology, the philosophy of Mistopia, and the program of Mistopia workshop, in addition to the active facilitation of working groups.

The participants expressed how they benefited from the sessions presented and their aspiration to apply this information with the children. The training contributed to creating a homogeneous team of the volunteers by supporting volunteers to live together as young people belonging to different components of society.

 

تدريب متطوعى ورشة عمل مصرتوبيا 12 - أسيوط


قام فريق مشروع "بناء القدرات للسلام" بالتوجة لمحافظة أسيوط لبدء الفاعليات الخاصة بالمرحلة الأولى من بروتوكول التعاون الموقع مع مؤسسات المجتمع المدنى المشاركة بالمشروع.

شملت تلك المرحلة تقديم البرنامج التدريبى لمتطوعي ورشة عمل مصرتوبيا 12 – اسيوط والذى شارك فيه عدد 15 شاب وشابة.

جاء اختيار الشباب من خلال تصفية اعداد الشباب اللذين قدموا استمارات التطوع وذلك من خلال المقابلات الشخصية التى شارك فيها مدير المشروع بمركز الإبراهيمية للإعلام وممثلى المؤسسات الشريكة بالمشروع.

استغرق البرنامج التدريبى 3 ايام وشمل تقديم لقاءات عن سيكولوجية الطفل وفلسفة مصرتوبيا وبرنامج ورشة عمل مصرتوبيا بالاضافة للتيسير النشط لمجموعات العمل.

وقد عبر المشاركين عن مدى استفادتهم مما قدم من لقاءات وتطلعهم لطبيق تلك المعلومات مع الاطفال. وقد ساهم التدريب فى خلق فريق عمل متجانس من خلال دعم حالة التعايش بينهم كشباب ينتمون لمختلف مكونات المجتمع.

Masrtopia 12 workshop in Assiut

The Capacity Building for Peace project (CBP) implemented the "Masrtopia 12 Workshop for the children of Assiut Governorate, through the cooperation with Justice and peace office of the Catholic Church and Sout elshabab association for training and development.

The activities of the workshop spanned over 3 days from 17 to 19 March 2022. 64 children from Assiut participated in it. The children covered various social, religious and gender backgrounds in Assiut Governorate.

Both students from the Al-Azhar Institute and the Nuns School were participated in the workshop, in addition to students from public schools in Assiut city and its neighboring villages.The children were able to transcend cultural barriers and integrate into different work teams that represented a safe environment for acquaintance and integration among them as different. During the course of the workshop, the children were able to discover the value of difference between them and the richness that this difference represents and add value to their lives and the possibility of coexistence in light of that difference.By the end of the workshop, the children succeeded in designing models for the schools they dream to have. Those schools expressed children view of the different components of society and their awareness of the needs and existence of the other, whether this other is the disability other or the gender other or the religion other.The workshop was followed by evaluation process on several time frames with partner organizations, volunteer, children and parents.

ورشة عمل مصرتوبيا  12 اسيوط

 

نفذ مشروع "بناء القدرات للسلام" ورشة عمل مصرتوبيا 12 لأطفال محافظة أسيوط، وذلك من خلال التعاون مع مكتب العدالة والسلام التابع للكنيسة الكاثوليكية ومؤسسة صوت الشباب للتدريب والتنمية.

امتدت انشطة الورشة على مدار 3 أيام فى الفترة من 17 الى 19 مارس 2022م. وقد شارك بها عدد 64 طفل من محافظة اسيوط شملوا مختلف الطبقات الاجتماعية والبيئات الجغرافية والخلفيات الدينية والجندرية بمحافظة اسيوط.

شهدت الورشة مشاركة طالبات المعهد الأزهرى ومدرسة الراهبات بالاضافة لطلاب وطالبات المدارس الحكومية بمدينة اسيوط والقرى المجاورة لها.

استطاع الاطفال تخطى الحواجز الثقافية والاندماج فى فرق عمل مختلفة مثلت بيئة أمنه للتعارف والاندماج بينهم كمختلفين وخلال مسيرة الورشة استطاع الاطفال اكتشاف قيمة الاختلاف بينهم والغنى الذى يمثله ويضيفه ذلك الاختلاف لحياتهم وامكانية التعايش المشترك فى ظل ذلك الاختلاف.

بنهاية الورشة نجح الاطفال فى تصميم نماذج للمؤسسات التعليمية التى يرغبون فى ان يعيشوا بها والتى عبرت عن قناعتهم بالاندماج بين مكونات المجتمع المختلفة و وعيهم باحتياجات الاخر ووجوده سواء كان هذا الاخر هو الاخر من ذوى الاعاقة او الاخر جندريا او الاخر دينيا...

تبع الورشة عملية تقييم على مراحل زمنية مختلفة مع المتطوعين والمؤسسات الشريكة بالاضافة للاطفال واولياء الامور.

Follow-up meeting for "Capacity Building for Peace" (CBP) project

 

On Sunday, March 27, 2022, the Steering committee for the “Capacity Building for Peace” (CBP) project met, led by the project manager and peace activities consultant, Mr. Sameh Nassiem Gayed at the Ibrahimia Media Center (IMC).

The meeting start by introducing the new participants of the project steering committee and the new project coordinator. In addition to following up on the implementation of the various activities of the project since its inception and the observed results and re-evaluating them, and this was followed by planning for the next phase and standing up to the latest updates.

The project manager presented the project’s implementation plan and the activities implemented during the previous period. He also presented the detailed results of the needs study, which was carried out at the beginning of the project and included the communities of Alexandria, Cairo, Assiut and Aswan.

Members of the project steering committee participated in a brainstorming process to develop current methodologies based on the outputs of the evaluation and follow-up process.

The educational goals of the advanced training on the culture of peace were reinforced, the training will be provided to the actors from the local communities, aiming to strengthening their role as actors of peace in the local community.

Participants in the meeting nominated a number of role models and important experiences that should be integrated into the planned website to be a source of knowledge about the culture of peace for all those who wish to learn about peace culture.

 

لقاء متابعة اعمال مشروع "بناء القدرات للسلام"

 

اجتمعت يوم الأحد 27 مارس 2022م مجموعة توجيه مشروع "بناء القدرات للسلام" بقيادة مدير المشروع واستشارى انشطة السلام بمركز الإبراهيمية للإعلام

بدء الاجتماع بتعريف المشاركين والاعضاء الجدد المنضمين لمجموعة توجيه المشروع و منسق المشروع الجديد. بالإضافة لمتابعة تنفيذ الأنشطة المختلفة للمشروع منذ أنطلاقه والنتائج المرصوده منها وإعادة تقييمها، وتلى ذلك التخطيط للمرحلة المقبلة والوقوف على أخر المستجدات.

وقد عرض مدير المشروع الخطة التنفيذية للمشروع والأنشطة المنفذة خلال الفترة السابقة، كما قام بعرض النتائج التفصيلية لدراسة الأحتياجات والتى تمت فى بداية المشروع وشملت مجتمعات الأسكندرية والقاهرة وأسيوط وأسوان.

شارك أعضاء مجموعة توجيه المشروع فى عملية عصف ذهنى لتطوير الأنشطة الحالية بناء على مخرجات عملية التقييم والمتابعة.

كما تم تعزيز الأهداف التعليمية للتدريب المتقدم حول ثقافة السلام والذى سيتم تقديمه للفاعلين من المجتمعات المحلية بهدف تدعيم دورهم كرواد للسلام فى المجتمع المحلى.

رشح المشاركين فى الإجتماع عدد من المواد العلمية والخبرات الهامة التى يجب دمجها فى موقع شبكة الانترنت المخطط تنفيذه ليكونوا مصدر للمعرفة حول ثقافة السلام لكل الراغبين فى التعلم والتعرف على المبادرات الرائدة فى ثقافة السلام.

Signing cooperation protocols Of "Capacity Building for Peace" (CBP) project in Assiut

Ibrahimia Media Center signed a cooperation agreement with the Sout elshabab Foundation for Training and Development and the Office of Justice and Peace of the Catholic Church in Assiut to support the capabilities of institutions to promote social peace. Signing of cooperation protocols came during the visit of the project manager, Mr. Sameh Nassiem Gayed to Assiut, where the two organizations participated in the discovery studying for societal needs for peace.

The two organizations were chosen because of their history in civil work and previous efforts in spreading peace culture.

The two organizations were represented by Archbishop Youssef Morcos from the Office of Justice and Peace - Assiut and Ms. Iman Talaat from Sout elshabab Foundation for Training and Development to sign the cooperation protocol.

Capacity building for Peace (CBP) project will work, through joint cooperation with the two organizations, to implement the activities of Masrtopia workshops in Assiut Governorate, in addition to supporting the capabilities of teams of the two organizations to adopt initiatives to spread a culture of peace and coexistence in the local community.

قام مركز الابراهيمية للأعلام بتوقيع اتفاقية تعاون مع مؤسسة صوت الشباب للتدريب والتنمية بأسيوط ومكتب العدالة والسلام التابع للكنيسة الكاثوليكية بأسيوط وذلك لدعم قدرات المؤسسات من أجل تعزيز السلام المجتمعى.

جاء توقيع بروتوكولات التعاون خلال زيارة مدير المشروع أ/ سامح نسيم جيد لمحافظة أسيوط حيث شاركت المؤسسات فى دراسة الاحتياجات المجتمعية للسلام بمحافظة أسيوط.

تم اختيار المؤسستان لما لهما من تاريخ فى العمل الاهلى ومجهودات سابقة فى نشر ثقافة السلام.

وقد مثل المؤسستان كل من القمص/ يوسف مرقص عن مكتب العدالة والسلام – أسيوط و الأستاذة / إيمان طلعت عن مؤسسة صوت الشباب للتدريب والتنمية للتوقيع على بروتوكول التعاون.

سيعمل المشروع من خلال التعاون المشترك مع المؤسستان على تنفيذ انشطة ورش عمل مصرتوبيا بمحافظة أسيوط بالإضافة لدعم قدرات فرق عمل المؤسستان على تبنى مبادرات لنشر ثقافة السلام والتعايش المشترك بالمجتمع المحلى.

Who we are: We are the Human Development Projects Department (Hotep) at Ibrahimia Media Center (IMC).

Hotep is a word in old Egyptian language, meaning "peace", "to rest", "become at peace" and "at ease", as in the Egyptian philosophy of living the life in Maat, which is the ancient Egyptian concept of truth, balance, order, harmony, law, morality, and justice.  

Vision: We envision a reconciled Arab society where a culture of peace prevails, and where its people are aware of their rights and strive to achieve them.  

Mission: Our mission is to promote peaceful coexistence and human rights in the Arab World through building peace capacities, creating common spaces, and sensitizing communities.

Ibrahimia Media Center was established in 2005, and since that time IMC was working to achieve its vision to reach the Middle East community to improve it for a better life.
